Kris Tschetter talks about; The Man I Knew in BEN HOGAN

Kris Tschetter, LPGA TOUR Player was close friends with Ben Hogan who was a very private man in spite of his iconic fame as a professional golfer.

This is the first of two podcasts taken from Tschetter's chat with me on  the LESSON TEE Radio/Internet Show.

Kris' book; Mr. Hogan, The Man I knew is one every person who knows of Ben Hogan's fame needs to read.

Ben Crenshaw said of this fantastic book; "My profound thanks to Kris for sharing her personal thoughts and rememberances of a man so few knew well."

Kris Tschetter was one of very few people Hogan let into his life.

Listen as Kris shares some special moments she had with Ben Hogan at Shady Oaks Country Club   in this first of two Podcasts take from the Lesson Tee Show.

Mr. Hogan, The Man I knew by LPGA TOUR Player Kris Tschetter.

The LESSON TEE Show airs live every Wednesday, 10-11am ET on air at WNRI 1380 AM radio and online at WNRI. Click on the flashing ON AIR button on  the homepage to enjoy THE LESSON TEE Show.

Finally, Down Under is On Top with a Green Jacket

Greg Norman was robbed of winning the Masters Green Jacket more than once starting in 1986.  On a wet, rainy Sunday in April 2013, Norman watched as one of his biggest fans, Adam Scott, got that Green Jacket for Norman and Australia in true Aussie fashion, namely scrapping and never giving up.

As the sun began to set over Augusta National, not one but three Australian players had a chance to steal victory from the jaws of lion hearted Angel Cabrera and his caddie son. Adam Scott,  Jason Day and Marc Leishman were on the first page of the leader board as the event was winding to a close. Or was it?

Cabrera, for his part dropped a shot at the 13th hole to fall out of the lead only to make birdie at the 16th and finally the 18th hole to force Aussie Adam Scott to join him on the water logged 18th tee once again for a Masters playoff that is sure to be one for the books.

Like throwing darts, both Scott and Cabrera matched each other shot for shot to par that first sudden death hole.

With the rain pelting down, ever harder, the two titans strode to the 10th tee at Augusta probably unaware of just how hard it really was raining.

Two tee shots at the second sudden death hole saw both players in good approach position to the dangerous 10th green.

Again, shot for shot, both players appeared to be heading to a third hole with grand pressure shots within birdie range into the 10th green.

Cabrera couldn’t have hit his putt any better hanging it on the lip and making par.

As Adam stood over his putt and caddie Stevie Williams, also from Down Under, New Zealand, wasn’t going to let this slip away from his boss and good friend. Williams gave Scott the correct read for his winning putt. “We knew it was a right-to-left putt. He said he thought it was a cup outside, but I told him it broke more than he thought and it was two cups outside the hole.”

Scott made an absolutely terrific stroke and drilled his birdie putt, thus ending Australia’s
drought of golf’s Majors and ending the criticism about Adam Scott’s putting ability.

Yep, Adam did it. Revenge is sweet for all those years and close calls by Scott’s iconic idle Norman and others through professional golf history.

As darkness fell over Augusta National and this year’s Masters, finally, the country of Australia, known as Down Under, is now On Top with a Green Jacket and one of Golf’s jewels in the Masters.

Congratulations Adam and congratulations to Australia.

TLTGOLF is back

After a bit of down time for health reasons these past several months along with tending to the affairs of my brother who died in late Spring, I have been remiss in keeping up with the TLTGOLF blog.

While logging many frequent flyer miles going back and forth to Chicago, IL, USA, our show, The LESSON TEE Radio/Internet Show just wrapped up our 4th year on air and online.

Podcasts of interviews and golf swing insight edited directly from the LESSON TEE have been enjoyed by thousands of golfers around the world.

From a little AM radio station in the town of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, golfers from 50 countries around the world enjoy the 5-8 minute podcasts.

The Podcasts include interviews from national and international teaching professionals, TOUR PLAYERS, PGA TOUR tournament directors of the Travelers Championship and the Deutsche Bank Championship the second leg of the famous FED EX PLAYOFFS.  Also a head club fitter  of one of the most respected golf retailers talks about club fitting, a Sports Psychologist chats about you and the game and a renown author and sports motivator gives insight into how to beef up your game by developing the ability to focus on process instead of outcome.

And finally, my friend and regular show guest, international teaching professional Peter Murphy.  Peter has been with Hank Haney for over 15 years, currently director of instruction at the Dallas facility.

As I said, Peter is a highly successful international teaching professional, leading teams like, team India, Japan, China, Venezuela to name a few. Peter is also Director of Golf Development for the country of Morocco as well as their team coach.

It has been awhile since my last post
.
Update: The Lesson Tee Radio/Internet Show is busy in its 4th year with many interesting guests and topics.  The Podcasts can be heard by clicking here .

My latest 2 Podcasts are with mental coach Michael Anthony who works with athletes around the world including golfers from average players to professionals.  The 2 part Podcasts of the interview are a MUST LISTEN for any golfer who desires better scores.  His book, The Mental Keys to Improve Your Golf is a must read for all golfers.

Other Podcasts since my last posting include such golf topics as: Club Fitting/Belly Putting/Rules and a new regular on the show in Peter Murphy, International Teaching Professional and Dir.of Instruction for Hank Haney Golf Schools. Peter is also Dir. of Golf Development for the country of Morocco as well as their golf coach.  He he has been the coach for such international teams as: China, Japan, India and Venezuela to name a few.  You will find a lot of 'food for thought' in Peter's words.

Also, is a very interesting interview in the current edition of New England Golf Monthly magazine with long time Champions Tour player, Dana Quigley last month at a charity golf tournament to raise money for his son Devon who suffered a traumatic brain injury last winter during an automobile accident.  If you think golf is just a game, you really should read this. It might just change your mind.
(Dana is ranked 4th on the all time money list of the Champions Tour with over $14 million in earnings.)

And finally, if you want to read my latest instruction piece, you will find it by clicking here and going to the ParExcellenceMagazine website.  As you may have guessed, it is about how your thinking impacts your swing/game.

Cheers and enjoy!
